4th Of July Festivities

Ft Walton Beach
The Landing downtown will be the site of this years event. Festivities get underway at 4pm and go on until 10pm. Enjoy the beautiful view by boat or by land on the Santa Rosa Sound. Lots of activities and entertainment for the whole family with fireworks at approximately 9:15.

Niceville/Valparaiso
Bring your family and friends to the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida on Thursday, July 4th and receive free admission from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Historic exhibits include Native American, Panhandle Pioneers, early 19th century transportation and industries such as, turpentine, boat building and fishing. Other exhibits include a hands-on Discovery Room for children, a military exhibit with artifacts from the Civil War, WWI, WWII, and the Vietnam War and a temporary exhibit commemorating 500 year of Florida history that showcases Okaloosa County’s Time Capsule. All guests will receive a free American flag while supplies last. www.heritage-museum.org
The 2013 July 4 fireworks show in Niceville will take place on Thursday, July 4th. The popular annual fireworks show will begin at dusk. Fireworks will be launched over Boggy Bayou from a barge located between Lincoln Park in Valparaiso and Lions Park in Niceville. The spectacular fireworks display is one of the largest in the area. More than a ton of fireworks will be fired. The best places for public viewing of the annual fireworks show are Lincoln Park in Valparaiso, and Lions Park and the Turkey Creek area in Niceville.
Fireworks will begin at approximately 8:30pm

Destin
Wednesday, July 3
The City of Destin will host its 5th Annual Independence Day Celebration & Bike Parade on Wednesday, July 3rd, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Morgan Sports Center. The event is for the whole family with tons of fun activities for children of all ages. The Bike Parade will start the celebration at 6:30 p.m. Children ages 14 and under are asked to decorate their bike, scooter or wagon with patriotic decorations for the parade. Decoration awards will be given for different categories and ages. Parade check-in will begin at 5:45 p.m. next to the concession stand located in the middle of the softball fields at Morgan Sports Center. Following the parade will be live music, kickball, moonwalks, ultimate frisbee, volleyball and much more. And, be sure to stick around for the fireworks show! Bring your chair, blanket and snacks. Thursday, July 4th
4th of July Extravaganza on the Harbor
The Red, White, and Blue Celebration at HarborWalk Village is a weekly honoring of a local hero. The celebrations highlight the efforts of people who go above and beyond to better their community. Enjoy an exciting live concert from Clinch 46 on the Main stage with a special Independence day fireworks show over the harbor. Top off the evening with a live performance by the Andy Velo Band!

Sandestin
Red, White and Baytowne
July 4
Join Sandestin for its spectacular 4th of July Celebration. Enjoy a day of fun in the sun, an evening that lights up the sky and family activities. The Village of Baytowne Wharf will have a host of kids activities from 6-10 p.m., including kids' crafts, face painting, and balloon sculpting. Live music will be performed from 6-9 p.m. Grab your boogie shoes and join in the fun. We will light up the sky over the lagoon with our 4th of July Fireworks Celebration at 9:15 p.m.

Navarre
July 4th
Area residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a free concert and fireworks in Navarre Park on Thursday, July 4.
Thursdays in the Park, co-hosted by the Navarre Chamber and Navarre Press, will kick off the celebration at 6:00 pm with a free concert by hometown favorite Robert Wayne.  The concert is sponsored by the ERA American Realty.  Those wishing to enjoy the concert should bring chairs or blankets to listen to the performance on the back deck of the Navarre Chamber and Visitor Center.  Dirt Road Cookers and Pizza Hut will provide concessions and refreshments beginning at 5:00 pm.
There will be a spectacular fireworks display after the concert, sponsored by the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council.  Spectators at the concert site in Navarre Park will have a great vantage point to enjoy the fireworks.

Seagrove and Seaside

Seaside 4th of July Parade
Seaside’s annual 4th of July Celebration brings together the best traditions along 30A and South Walton as The Merchants of Seaside host a fun-filled Fourth for all ages including two nights of fireworks, a community parade and live music for the entire family.
8 a.m. – Join Seaside on Independence Day as they continue a long-standing tradition along 30A with the Annual South Walton 4th of July Parade. Beginning at Seagrove Plaza will end at the Seaside Amphitheater. Residents and visitors share in the glory as participants march down Scenic Highway 30A dressed in patriotic costumes and on festive holiday floats. Upon arrival in Seaside, a panel of judges will select winning parade entries and awards will be handed out. ::MAP::
Alys Beach –
7  – 10 p.m.
Celebrate 4th of July with live music followed by fireworks at the Alys Beach Amphitheatre. Piper’s will offer food and beverage.

DeFuniak Springs
The DeFuniak Springs Business and Professional Association is gearing up for fun this Fourth of July. The 22nd annual celebration includes a parade, rocking entertainment, children’s activities, fireworks and more.
Events start at 4:30 p.m. with a parade starting at Walton Middle School.
Opening ceremonies at 6 p.m.

The Walton County Heritage Museum will be celebrating the Fourth of July with caboose tours and old-fashioned hot dogs. The Museum will open at 11 a.m. and remain open until the conclusion of the fireworks over Lake DeFuniak. Visitors can enjoy a special exhibit, “The Flag as Art in Daily Life,” featuring the art of Bruce Young of Dune Allen and everyday items using flag graphics. The caboose will be open for tours from 2 – 4 p.m., and Full Steam Ahead Barbeque will sell hot dogs, sausage dogs, chips, and drinks in front of the Museum starting at 11 a.m. The Museum is located at 1140 Circle Drive in the Historic District of DeFuniak Springs.
